Harry

HarryWhat can you say about Harry... He's a beautiful deerhound/galgo mix, silly and playful, with nothing but love to give. Harry came to the US in April 2007 and landed in the Christman home where he has bonded deeply with all his doggy brothers and sisters - particularly galgo brother Inigo. Harry is a very sensitive and sweet boy and has a sense of peace about him.

Isleta (aka Marta)

IsletaIsleta is indeed a "little island".  She is a tiny, shy, black and white, galga who arrived from Spain in April 2007.  When she first arrived, she was so shy that she would eat only one bite of food, then retreat to be sure all was ok, then return to her bowl for the next bite.  After only a few months, Izzy has made remarkable progress.  She is often the first one to finish her food and her eyes no longer show fear or worry.   Izzy loves to snuggle with her humans and is often found sharing a dog bed or couch with a galgo or greyhound sibling.  However, when strangers, particularly men, are in the house, she heads to her safe place.  Izzy has the loudest bark for the smallest dog and uses it to let everyone know whenever the UPS man pulls up to the driveway.  Izzy absolutely hates the cold.  A viewpoint shared by her greyhound sister, Moxie.

Maggie (aka Christiane)

MaggieMaggie and her son, Kona, were rescued by Scooby volunteers when they were found buried in a hole in the ground covered by a board.  Kona came to the US in October 2006, and Maggie made the same trip in April 2007.  She was supposed to have gone to Chinook Winds Greyhound Adoption in Canada (great friends and supporters of G.R.I.N.), but ended up falling in love with her new mom, a Best Friends Animal Society employee, when she was taken to the Kanab Greyhound Gathering on her way to Canada.  She is a truly special girl who is very loved.  She lives happily with her mom and a group of cats in Kanab, Utah.

Carmen

CarmenCarmen is a lovely, lively, tiny galgo. She came to the US in April 2007 and was transferred to the GPA - Greater Northwest adoption group in Idaho. She stayed in foster care for about a month and was recently adopted by a loving family.

Dulce (aka Sasha)

Dulce (aka Sasha)G.R.I.N. supporters are all familiar with Sasha, previously known as Dulce, as she became infamous in the greyhound community after escaping from her foster home in Colorado just 36 hours after arriving in the US. After 18 days "in the wild", she was captured by animal control officers in a live animal trap. She has been adopted by a wonderful retired couple and is coming out of her shell little by little and, though still shy around strangers, is a happy and playful little girl!

Daisy Face

Daisy FaceWe don't know much about Daisy Face's history before coming to the US. She was chosen right before the rescue mission in February 2007 to stand in the place of Bita, a sweet Irish greyhound who died of cancer before she could make the trip to the US. Daisy Face was adopted by a wonderful lady and her husband who, sadly, passed away a week after Daisy Face's arrival. Daisy Face has been a blessing to her family and is very loved.

Marco (aka Mark)

Marco (aka Mark)Marco is another long-term resident of Scooby who was lucky enough to be chosen to come to the US in February 2007. A big handsome brindle boy (and a chubby one at that), Marco earned the name "Mark" when Scooby volunteer Eva Andrews, trying to come up with a name for him for the website, noticed that he liked to mark his territory! Marco was transferred to the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas and was adopted by a loving family.
